As our Lead End User Computing Engineer GenAI the job may be suitable for hybrid working, which is where an employee works part of the week in the office and part of the week from home. This is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and the location advertised will be your contractual place of work.

Your world of expertise

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the fastest growing deep technology in the world. It has the potential to change the way we work and as a result, Corporate Technology are building a new team to enable the use of AI in our everyday work. The team will be responsible for developing and deploying AI solutions across the organization, from automating business processes to enhancing end user experience. We are looking for a Lead EUC Engineer to join this team to lead the design and implementation of AI-enabled applications.

Your key duties

As a Lead End User Computing Engineer you will work with the Corp Tech GenAI team, leading the design and implementation of AI-enabled applications. You will have expert technical understanding including security and compliance considerations. You will be accountable for optimising vendor and supplier management and will work collaboratively with key functions, such as technical architecture, to understand the feasibility of implementing AI solutions.

This Lead EUC Engineer role is aligned to Lead End user computing engineer- Government Digital and Data Profession Capability Framework (ddat-capability-framework.service.gov.uk) on the GOV.UK website

As our Lead End User Computing Engineer GenAI, your total reward package will be up to £62,939 annually, which includes:

• £41,725 base pay
• An outstanding Civil Service pension, with an average employer contribution of 27%
• Recruitment Retention Allowance (RRA) you will be paid £5,300 per annum as a market supplement to reflect the demand for your skills. Whilst in post, you will be paid this market driven allowance from April 2024 until September 2025 in your monthly pay
• Annual Leave starting at 27.5 days (plus Bank Holidays) rising to 32.5 days (plus Bank Holidays) after 5 years and option to buy or sell up to 5 days per year of annual leave

Essential Criteria, skills and experience:

1. Technical Specialism: A strong understanding of the technology being implemented with experience leading the design and implementation of technical solutions, including drafting and maintain procedures and documentation. Setting standards for the definition, security and integrity of objects, and ensure conformity to these standards. (We're experts by nature)
2. Testing: Experience managing the planning of system and acceptance tests, co-ordinating both functional and non-functional specifications while providing authoritative advice and guidance on test planning.
3. Ownership and Initiative: Tenacity to adapt to a continually changing technical landscape, taking accountability for issues that occur and be proactive in searching for potential problems, with the knowledge and experience to consider when AI is a viable and appropriate solution.
4. Service Management Framework Knowledge: Broad understanding and experience of the ITIL service management framework, ensuring the correct processes and procedures are applied, providing a high level of service during the transition to new technology.
5. User focused: Ensure all user needs are considered when designing solutions. Work effectively with other teams and communicate clearly to ensure that recommended solutions are understood. (We're better together)
6. Vendor & Supplier Management: A track record of successful vendor and supplier management, managing and optimising vendor and supplier partnerships.

Desirable Criteria:
